Tackling Stigma, Barriers and Challenges
During our first session of the HarmLess Community of Practice, the group discussed a variety of issues that from their experience affect those from black, Asian, mixed and minority backgrounds, when it comes to gambling harms. Issues such as stigma and shame within communities, language barriers, and cultural challenges all emerged as issues. During our second session 23 November 2021, this was taken further, and as seen in the illustration below, left us all with food for thought!
Our members have highlighted the importance of safe spaces, shared intelligence and working from the ground UP. We hope to build on these during our next session.
